I have just signed up to run a marathon for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s TEAM IN TRAINING in San Diego, California on June 2, 2002! I know, 26.2 miles is very far but I think that this is for a great cause. Now, pick your jaw up off the ground – I am sure that this may be hard to believe. Can she do this? I’ve been asking myself those very same questions since I signed up.

So you ask yourself, how will she get through this. Well I am not doing it for me alone, I have two honored heroes that I am running for, Kristina Hill, who is currently undergoing treatment for AML and Janelle Tole, an 8th grader whom is currently undergoing treatment for ALL. I will also have a coach, a training regimen, and the support of a great group of other runners with this common goal. So the challenge that I am faced with is nothing compared to the challenges that Kristina, Janelle and many others face every day.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s was established in 1949 to help find a cure for blood related cancers and to improve the quality of life for these patients. The society is the world’s largest organization solely concerned with finding cures for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and melanoma. The society provides funding for research and provides financial and emotional support for patients affected by these diseases.

I am writing to ask for your support in my project by contributing as generously as you can to the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s on my behalf. My goal to be able to run is $3,500. Over 75% of my personal goal will go to The Society for research, patient services, advocacy and education. NO DONATION IS TO GREAT OR SMALL because every bit helps. I ask that you keep me and all involved in The Society in your prayers.

Thanks in advance for your support! Please contact me with any questions. I will look forward to hearing from you soon.

Lots of Love
